Speed Bumps On Your Journey

As you all know from my previous post I am working on a funnel for the company where I work. I finished the funnel and presented to them yesterday and the reaction I received was not what I expected.

I spent the entire day yesterday finishing up with the final touches, doing a final round of testing, rechecking all the content, margins, photos and so on. I wanted a seamless experience when I presented the funnel to my boss and colleagues. I put the funnel in test mode having gone through the launch checklist and shared the link on our Whatsapp group along with the dummy credit card details to be used while the funnel is in test mode. I then proceeded to send voice notes with a brief explanation what a funnel is, all its capabilities and the potential for our business. The time in Dubai is currently 9 hours ahead of Toronto, I now had to wait for them to wake up and see my messages.

I noticed that my boss has started listening to my voice notes so I waited in anticipation for his feedback. First-off, he asked whether our designer had designed this funnel to which I had to reply that no, this funnel was made by me and made possible due to how simple and user-friendly Clickfunnels is. I then did not hear anything back. My other colleagues in the group chat also started listening to my voice messages, even skipping some of the voice notes and not entirely listening to all of them. It was a bummer.

I started thinking and trying to remember all the material I have read so far in Expert Secrets and Russel Brunson’s presentations to see whether my story-telling was wrong or whether I missed something out while presenting this new opportunity.

Turns out having a product-focused funnel as opposed to a fully fledged eCommerce website is not something that gets my boss excited even though I proceeded to tell him about the conversion rates of standard websites vs. funnels which stands at 1%-2% vs 8%-10%. I am still trying to have one of my colleagues watch Russel Brunson’s 10X presentation where he sold $3 million in 90 minutes, in the hope that it would explain to him clearly the concept of what a funnel is and the power of marketing your business the way Russel Brunson does it, and what all this could mean for our business. I am hoping that once he watches the presentation he would get onboard with this strategy and we could kickstart this.

Either way, this is just a reiteration about all the bumps you can expect when starting a new journey. I made this funnel with the hope of becoming a ‘rock-star’ at the company, introducing a new concept to help with our marketing and sales and yet no one seems to be interested. I still have the funnel I made for myself which I am going to instead turn all my attention to and in turn make this a success for myself. May be once they see the success I’m having they will realize what they missed out on but until then I am going to push ahead and not give discouragement any thought.
